Paradise

Sorry for the delay in posting. With power outages, family, friends and just plain grief, I did not have the initiative to write.

We are fine, as is all of our personal property. Surprisingly, through all this devastation, the only fatality was a car accident somehow fire related. Most people had enough notice to leave with just a few belongings.

A few scenes from Ventura:

The house that once held my heart still stands. Unfortunately few of my neighbors were as lucky.
Thank you for your kind words and prayers.

    1. I like to think of that Fred Rogers saying, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping".

I shows me hope and goodness.

  4. Glad you're okay! Have been watching news coverage of these fires -- just incredible. Sometimes I wonder if there's anything of California left. It seems to be on fire every year.

  5. I am so very sorry that this has touched your lives.. I see things on the news and feel so bad for everyone and fear there is no way to make any sense of the loss and worry and grief. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

  6. I am glad you and your family are fine.
My husbands sisters live in Orange County/Dove Canyon and we were concerned about them when I awoke to see it had spread to San Diego. We pulled up maps because it was too early to call. (everyone is fine)
This is all so gut wrenching to watch. I can't fathom living through this. So happy to know you are all safe.

  10. Thanks everyone♥ This is a strong community and it will rebuild but only if those fuckers at the permit office hire 25 COMPETENT people. Otherwise it will be 3 years out before anyone can hammer so much as one nail.
