An Invincible Summer - A Woman's Journey

The older I get, the more I realize how very true this quote is. Who am I to doubt Socrates anyway, right? One of my favorite songs is my favorite because of the very first line. "The more you see, the less you know. The less you find out as you go. I knew much more then than I do now".  At 55, I am learning that wisdom is realizing how little you know and that wisdom is far greater than intelligence. Better late than never! Meanwhile.....HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

As you might remember, I am going to see U2 on my 55th birthday. Just reviewing, catching up and remembering why I love them so much.  I’d have a hard time grading my favorite songs but if I did, this one would be in the top five.  I related to its loneliness and lost feeling, I was so incredibly lonely in my marriage those last 7 years. But this song has an underlying hope. Also, if you are lucky enough to listen to it on an excellent stereo the drumming at the end can  be felt in your heart.  Tell me what you think?

For my 47th birthday I got two concert tickets to see U2.  Truth be told, I don't like crowds, they make me uptight and nervous, but I was thrilled to be flying to Denver to see them It was a thoughtful gift that the Secret Keeper knew I would really like. As it turned out, I did not make that concert in May of 2011. He could not go and although I might have thought to go With or Without Him;  my kids needed me at the time, it didn't seem like much fun to do that particular trip alone and, finally, he could not remember where he put the tickets. That was 8 years ago, although it seems like 20. We are in Another Time Another Place and things are no longer so Out of Control , no longer  Bad, and I am One Step Closer.  I just got two tickets to see U2 for my 55th birthday!!!!  We will not be in the city Where The Streets Have No Name nor in the City Of Blinding Lights ...we will be in Paris...as in Paris France. I will be rocking in 55 with my very favorit...
